Ash and Michael’s maternity session in Olinda, Dandenong Ranges was soft, calm and beautifully intimate — the kind of overcast day that makes everything feel slower and more intentional. The misty air and muted forest tones created the dreamiest backdrop as they wandered through the trees, soaking in this season before welcoming their second baby. There’s something so special about photographing a family who’s done this before — there’s less nerves, more confidence, and such a grounded kind of love.
Ash wore one of my client closet pieces, which flowed so effortlessly against the moody greens of the ranges. The movement of the fabric paired with the gentle light gave the whole session a romantic, almost cinematic feel. Michael stayed close, hands resting protectively on her growing bump, both of them sharing quiet smiles that spoke of excitement and anticipation. It was relaxed, heartfelt and full of that beautiful in-between feeling — the calm before their family grows by one more.
